Holiday Muse(ing)

Hey, how did it get to be December already? This year has flown by.

Okay. No. It hasn’t. It’s lumbered along like an asthmatic, arthritic giant with hemorrhoids. But that’s okay because it’s nearly over. *glares at calendar*

First we have to get through the holidays, though, whether that be Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Three Kings Day, St. Lucia Day, and/or whatever you and yours consider worthy of celebration.

I do not have visions of plum candies, I’ll tell you that. I have desperate cravings for an elaborate sushi dinner and playing tabletop games until three a.m. with a group of close friends. Alas… neither is likely to happen this year. I suppose delayed gratification will make it all the sweeter…

So this post is, mainly, to let you know that I’m doing okay, and to hold out my fervent hope that you are as well. To tell you that you CAN contact me to catch up over the phone, or via text, or over Zoom; that while I may only have a few real time minutes to talk at any given time, I very, very much want to hear from each and every one of you reading this.

2020 has been super hard on the fandom community, as our conventions have closed and are, indeed, declaring that they won’t be operating during 2021. Let’s not lose track of one another during the hiatus. Let the season be what it’s meant to be, at the base of it all: a time to come together, to catch up, to renew our ties and rebuild our faith in one another and the world around us.

Happy holidays to all!
