I’m officially launching a Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror writing group in Williamsburg, VA. First meeting is on Saturday, February 17, from 3-5 pm. Location is Retro Daddio’s. This will largely be a meet and greet time, but I encourage everyone to bring printouts of their work to swap and read aloud.
The next meeting will be on Saturday, February 24, from 3-5, also at Retro Daddio’s. This meeting will focus on dramatic reading skills, so plan to read out loud and bring enough material for about ten minutes.
The group is open to all skill levels, from beginner to professional. Goals and meeting topics will include: have your work professionally published, learning how to network, public communication skills, using social media, and more. About half of each meeting will be discussion of our work; the rest will be discussion about a pre-selected topic.
There is no fee for this group. Purchasing something from our host, be it as small as a soda, is greatly appreciated, however. 🙂
